Please be aware when selecting your reason that if you need to change your reason after you have completed the course, the VA DMV requires you to get a letter from the judge and you will have to pay an additional $25 surcharge fee for us to process the request.

For Holders of a Virginia Driver License

Court Ordered – Without Safe Driver Points Awarded

Choose this reason if you received a citation and the court or judge told you to take the course and you will not receive safe driving points.

Court Ordered – With Safe Driver Points Awarded

Choose this reason if you received a citation and the court or judge told you to take the course and you will receive safe driving points.

Please note - In most cases, if a judge is going to reduce your fine or dismiss your charges for taking a course, they are not going to award safe driver points in addition. If you are not sure, please double check your court order to see if it says you will get safe driver points.

DMV Required (Driver Improvement Clinic)

Choose this reason if the Virginia DMV sent you a letter that tells you to take a Virginia driver improvement program.

Voluntary

Choose this reason to get 5 Safe Driving Points added to your record!

For Holders of an Out-of-State Driver License

Non-Resident (Court Required)

Choose this reason if you are an out-of-state driver who received a ticket in Virginia.

For Holders of any Driver License

Insurance Discount

Choose this reason to receive an insurance discount if you are under the age of 55.
