Alaska Defensive Driving Course - Point Reduction
Choose the Point Reduction course option if you are taking this course to receive a two-point reduction on your driving record.
Keep in mind that you must complete the course within 12 months of the date of your last violation to receive the credit and no more than one course may be used to obtain a point reduction in any 12-month period.
Step 1: Register for the course.
Registration is fast and easy! Simply create a username and password and fill in your contact information. You will be prompted to pay at the end of registration.
Step 2: Complete the course
Our course consists of ten short lessons, which are packed with engaging instruction, animations, slide shows, videos, and games. There’s a short multiple choice quiz after each lesson. Don’t worry—you can take the quiz as many times as necessary to pass.
The course is completely online and works on every mobile device. Complete the course wherever it’s most convenient for you—at home or on the go!
You can come and go as often as you like—each time you log in, we take you to where you last left off. You can complete the course at whatever pace best suits you.
Step 3: Pass the final exam.
For Defensive Driving Point Reduction or Court-Referred Courses:
You may take the exam online. The final exam consists of 10 multiple-choice questions. You must score 80% or higher to pass.
You may take the exam as many times as necessary to pass. Safe2Drive does not charge a fee for retaking the exam.
Exams are timed. You are given 90 seconds to answer each question. The question is marked wrong if you fail to answer it in the time allowed. You proceed
to answer each question from start to finish. There is no opportunity to go back and change answers.
Step 4: Receive your Certificate of Completion.
We email you your Certificate of Completion and you can print a free copy of your Certificate of Completion from your account at any time. We submit your completion information to the DMV for you.
Alaska Defensive Driving Course - Court-Referred
Choose our Court-Referred course option if you received a ticket and were referred by a court to take a Defensive Driving course. You may take a Defensive Driving course to satisfy a court referral as often as necessary.
