Take our course if you have been convicted of a failure-to-yield violation or a right-of-way violation and have been ordered by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT)
to complete a Failure-to-Yield / Right-of-Way course. You can also take our course if your license has been suspended and the DOT has ordered you to complete a Failure-to-Yield / Right-of-Way course as a condition of reinstatement.
How the Wisconsin Failure-to-Yield / Right-of-Way Course Works
Step 1: Register
Registration is quick and easy! Create a username and
password, and fill out your contact information.
Step 2: Pay
Pay for the course online with a credit card. Note, we do not store your credit card information! You can also send us a check by mail
or call us to make a payment with a credit card over the phone.
Step 3: Complete the Course
The Wisconsin Failure-to-Yield / Right-of-Way Course consists of lessons made up of reading material, videos, animations, interactive exercises,
and games. You'll review Wisconsin right-of-way laws and techniques for driving safely. We also present methods for increasing your awareness
of other road users such as pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists.
The course is 2 hours long in accordance with DOT requirements. You can finish it in one sitting or in bits and pieces. Your only deadline is the one
given to you by the DOT.
A short multiple-choice quiz is given after each lesson. Each quiz consists of two multiple-choice questions. You must answer both
questions correctly to proceed to the next lesson. Most people pass the lesson quizzes
on their first attempt. But don't worry--you can take the lesson quizzes as many times as you need to pass at no additional cost.
Step 4: Pass the Final Exam
You will take an online multiple-choice final exam after finishing all the course lessons. The exam consists of 15 multiple-choice questions, and you
must score at least 80% (12 correct answers) to pass. No need to worry! You are permitted as many tries as necessary to pass at no charge. However,
the DOT requires that you must start the course over again if you fail to pass the exam two times in a row.
Safe2Drive does not charge any additional fees to retake the final exam or start the course over.
Step 5: Print your Completion Certificate
You can print your Completion Certificate immediately after passing the exam. We also email it to you. Keep the certificate for your records. It is
your proof that you completed a DOT-approved Failure-to-Yield Course.
We process your completion to the Wisconsin DOT within 1 business day. Once we have processed your completion, you can check your driving status
and eligibility to reinstate your operating privilege if your license has been suspended by visiting the Wisconsin DOT website here.
