Full Driver’s License Eligibility Requirements
The full driver’s license is the final stage in the Iowa licensing process. To be eligible to receive your full driver’s license, you must meet a few requirements:
- You must be at least 17 years old to get your full driver’s license.
- You must have held your intermediate license for a minimum of 12 consecutive months with a clean driving record prior to applying for your full license.
- You must have completed the required 30 hours of supervised driving, including 3 hours of driving between sunset and sunrise.
- You must have written consent from a parent/guardian if they do not accompany you to the driver’s license issuance site.
Earning Your Full Driver’s License
If you meet the above requirements, you are all set to get your full driver’s license! Simply visit your nearest driver’s license issuance site and you can apply.
With a full license, you get full driving privileges with no restrictions. Congratulations, you did it!
