California Traffic School in Tuolumne County
The California DMV has licensed Safe2Drive to offer its online traffic school for drivers who get tickets in Tuolumne. By competing traffic school, you keep points off your
record. Safe2Drive notifies the court you completed traffic school the same day you finish.
Court Location
Traffic cases are handled at the Branch Location of the Superior Court of California, County of Tuolumne, which is
located at 60 N. Washington Street, Sonora, CA. The mailing address: 60 N. Washington Street, Sonora, CA, 95370, and
their phone number is (209) 533-5671.
Citation
It takes approximately 10 working days from the time the citation is issued until the court receives it from the issuing agency and processes it.
Courtesy Bail Notice
California courts are under no obligation to send bail notices; however, most courts, including the Tuolumne Superior Court, send a courtesy notice
to the address written on the citation. The back of the notice lists your options to take care of your citation.
Traffic Division staff cannot quote fine information over the telephone unless they have the original citation from the issuing agency. If the address on your citation is
not correct and you do not receive a courtesy notice, you will need to contact the court after 10 working days to inquire about your fine options.
Eligibility for Traffic School
Your courtesy notice will tell you if you are eligible for traffic school. The eligibility is determined as follows:
You have a valid driver's license; you have not attended traffic school for a citation issued within the past 18 months of the present citation (violation date to violation date);
you have not failed to appear under Vehicle Code section 40508(a), unless the failure-to-appear charge has been adjudicated and
all fees and fines paid; you are charged only with infractions that do not have a point count of more than one point under Vehicle Code section 12810;
you were not cited for any charge involving alcohol or drug use or possession; you were not charged with exceeding a speed limit by more than 25 miles per hour.
How Traffic School Works
