Nevada drivers can voluntarily take a Nevada Traffic School Course to get 3 points removed from their driving record if they have accumulated between 3 and 11 points and
they aren't taking the course as part of a plea-bargain with a court of law. Students can only voluntarily take a traffic school course for point reduction once within a 12-month period.
They can also take a traffic school course to satisfy a plea bargain with a court or a court requirement to complete traffic school.
How Does Traffic School Work?
All Nevada Traffic School courses are required by the state to be 5 hours in length. Safe2Drive's course consists of five lessons and a final exam.
The lessons are made up of reading material, videos, animations, and interactive exercises. The final exam consists of multiple-choice questions.
Depending on your reason for taking a Nevada Traffic School course, one of two things will happen after you have completed the course:
- For courses taken as part of a plea bargain agreement with the court (court-referred): We email the certificate to you when you pass the final exam. You must print it out, sign it, and
deliver it to the court for credit.
- For Point Reduction Nevada Traffic School: We will notify the NV DMV you completed the course within 1-3 business days. Make sure to check with them 7-10 business days
afterward to make sure they have processed your completion!
